Copyright, Attribution & Archival Permissions Policy
Guidelines for citing Defence Observer research, fair academic use, and image/archival credit standards.
1. Citation & Fair Academic Use
Scholars, students, journalists, and policymakers are encouraged to cite Defence Observer research papers, policy briefs, and reference articles with full attribution:
- Include the author(s), title, publication series, date, and canonical URL on
https://defenseobserver.org. - Short excerpts may be quoted for non-commercial research, review, and policy commentary with clear credit.
- Republication of full papers, monographs, or infographics requires prior written permission from the Publisher (
adg@defenceobserver.in).
2. Photographic & Archival Credits
Defence Observer maintains strict records of original field photography, official public-domain releases (such as Press Information Bureau and Service photo archives), captions, and copyright permissions. Any rights query may be directed to adg@defenceobserver.in.
