Editorial Independence, Sponsored Content & Conflict-of-Interest Policy
Clear structural separation between Defence Observer’s independent research/editorial judgement and commercial or institutional partnerships.
Strict Separation of Editorial & Commercial Functions
Defence Observer maintains an uncompromising firewall between its editorial and research decisions and its commercial, sponsorship, or institutional partnerships:
- Independent Editorial & Research Process: Research papers, policy briefs, strategic assessments, and reference articles are commissioned, reviewed, and published solely on editorial merit and verifiable evidence.
- Explicit Labelling of Sponsored & Partner Content: Any corporate profile, partner supplement, sponsored roundtable report, or advertisement is clearly and prominently labelled (
SPONSORED/PARTNER FEATURE) so readers can immediately distinguish it from independent editorial work. - Author Conflict-of-Interest Disclosures: Visiting contributors, fellows, and external authors must disclose any institutional affiliation, consultancy, or financial interest relevant to the subject of their manuscript.
- No Favourable Coverage Guarantees: Commercial sponsorship, advertising, or event partnership never entitles an organisation to favourable editorial coverage or alteration of independent research findings.
